Kingdom Dreams, is a clothing company that designs modern fashion representing the kingdom of God. The company began in 2004 by selling branded t-shirts at Christian music concerts, Trade Shows, fashion shows, and other events with the logo ‘Kingdom Wear’. The company is now celebrating its 1-year anniversary in a 2,500 foot premier space in the Lansing Mall, featuring a full line of its own exclusive fashion apparel for both men and women. The company’s expansion is just beginning according to its founder and CEO, Ray Jackson.
It all started with a dream, says Jackson, former manager at discount retailer Kmart and statistician for General Motors Co. Jackson felt that he had a calling to evangelize through fashion. He knew that spreading the Word of God was something he had to do. While growing up Jackson was always good with business and had an understanding about fashion, but once he received confirmation that God was taking him to another level he retired from General Motors and that was the beginning of Kingdom Dreams.
When Jackson began the clothing line, he built it up as an online business with the former logo of Kingdom Wear. In October 2008 the company was renamed Kingdom Dreams and added a kiosk in the Lansing Mall. On November 7, 2010, Jackson opened the first Kingdom Dreams store in the Lansing Mall near the Main entrance.
Believe it or not, Michigan is still a place where businesses can be started and remain successful. Even with the poor economy Kingdom Dreams has still been able to grow the company and has plans to open more stores around the Michigan area in 2012. Having a sister company, The Royalty Agency that focuses on helping businesses better market and promote themselves was a great advantage in growing Kingdom Dreams.
The company also has a strong presence and involvement in the community. In the pass year Kingdom Dreams has been a part of many events such as the “Hidden Key Fashion Show: Hosted by The Aitch Foundation”, raising money for early cancer detection and research. “Bless Fest: Hosted by Media Messengers” a two day event which focuses on preaching the gospel, feeding the hungry and clothing those in need. The event drew more than 3000 people in 2011. Kingdom Dreams is a company that bases its work ethic on Godly principles. In addition to these and many other worthy causes Kingdom Dreams donates 10 percent of its profit to local and national ministries.
